Welcome to my Blog!

Happy 2009!

So I thought I'd start the New Year off right with a new blog.  Hope you love it!  I'm so excited about!  Join in and share lots of love and comments.

I love what I do.  I love being able to play with kids, see the sweetest babies, laugh with amazing families, and be a part one of the most important days in a couples life.  This job ROCKS!

So...
sit back, grab something to drink, a snack, and enjoy!  I look forward to hearing from you.

Disney

While on Christmas break we took a small trip to Disney for the day.  We didn’t tell Emma where we were going and when she saw the powerline Mickey ears she flipped out with excitement:)  A few months back Jason and I got the flip camcorder and can I just tell you that we LOVE it!!!  I’ve made 3 videos with it so far and it is the BOMB!!!!  SO cool!  I sometimes forget to use my camera cause I have this nifty little thing:)  This was one of those times.  lol.  I really don’t like taking my big camera into the theme parks because I have heard way to many horror stories.  However, I did get some shots with my point and shoot:)  Enjoy!!

March 1, 2010 - 3:50 pm Mallory McCallister - WOW! Love them! Especially the last one of you and Jason! How were you able to capture that??

Soccer

Did I mention that I married my best friend???  Jason and I will be married for 7 years this July.  We will be celebrating 7 years of marriage and 15 years of friendship this year.  I met Jason when I was 14 and we became the best of friends.  We started dating in college:)  We both say we would have started dating before then but we knew that when we started dating it would be forever and well we just weren’t ready for forever yet. HA!  Jason has been a great husband and an incredible father.  He coached Emma’s soccer team this year and she LOVED it.  I must admit that I was pretty proud myself.  I mean the man works VERY hard to support us and then to spend the extra time he has to 3-4 year olds is just the sweetest thing:)  Okay I’m done braggin:)  Anyway, this was Emma’s first season in soccer and she will be playing again.  She kicked one goal this season and we are so proud of that one goal!!!!:)  What a sport!  For the past couple months our Saturday mornings were consumed with the soccer and we loved every minute of it.  Can’t wait till next season!!!!

Emma's trademark became that bow in her hair.:) I mean come on, how tacky are those outfits. We needed to spice it up a bit;)

February 23, 2010 - 11:46 am Katie - no way! totally our "story" too! we were BEST friends until the end of our senior year! i even dated a few of chad's best friends during high school! nothing like marrying your best friend.....the one who "liked" you before they "loved" you! :)

Christmas

We had a wonderful holiday season together.  Every year my family celebrates Christmas on Christmas Eve.  Then on Christmas day we go to my in laws.  By the end of the two days we are completely zoncked (is that a word and if so better check that spelling):)  Emma got everything she wanted:) It was our last Christmas with just the three of us so this one was a little more special then in the past.  It was definitely a reality check for Jason and myself.  I think the pregnancy became real as we realized that next year we will be a family of 4.  It is so hard to imagine another child without picture Emma Bean.  But we are thrilled to say the least:)  Here is a pic of us at my in laws in front of their tree.  Emma had such a wonderful time this year and REALLY got into the whole present opening concept…even if they weren’t her presents;)  Oh and might I add that I LOVE my new Betsy Johnson watch:)

The Baby…

Is not here yet:)  No I haven’t had her yet.  However, as most of you know I have been have some problems this pregnancy.  They are looking good now though!  YAY!  The previa is gone, my second blood work came back great, and she is looking BIG and healthy.  The doctor does not expect me to go to my due date and I am thankful for that.  If I do go all the way to my due date she will be here in 7 weeks.  Seeing how they aren’t expecting that…um there is no telling.  She was weighing 5 lbs 2 weeks ago so we have another big one on our hands.  I’m not gonna pretend that doesn’t make a little nervous.  Okay well a lot nervous:) lol  However, I know the Lord will take care of baby and me so we will be just fine.

So needless to say with baby stuff, Emma, shoots, weddings and the normal family things going on we have been extremely busy.  So I’m sorry I have slacked on the blog.  Which brings me to why I’m writing today.  To CATCH UP.  I’m going to ignore the fact that my laundry is beyond embarrassing right now and if someone knocked on my door I would probably have to dig a hole and crawl in it.  BUT, my blog will be updated:)  You know it’s bad when your blog says “happy 2009!” lol!!!!  HA!!!!

I also want to take this time to thank everyone of you that refer me.  I get emails daily with upcoming weddings and shoots and new babies and high school seniors all coming from you guys.  Again I can not tell you what that does for me.  You guys are like a second family to me.  Thank you guys!!!!!!!!

Baby Jackson’s Birth ~ Tampa Birth Photographer

I must admit when I was first asked to do this a few months back I was a little nervous.  Well, let me just tell you that it was AMAZING!!!!  I felt so honored to be there to experience this with mom and dad and to see Jackson!!!  He is just so adorable and mom did an AMAZING job.  She has got to be the sweetest woman while in labor.  To put it lightly, I was not nice during my labor.  OUCH!!!!!  :)   I was able to capture some AWESOME moments and I’m so happy and thrilled to be able to share them with you!  This is most definitely REAL. LIFE. ART.  Thanks to the Ruby’s for letting be part of this amazing story!!!  Love you guys!

I’m back!!!

Hey everyone!!!  Yes, I am back to work:)  Vacation lasted a little longer than expected, but it was so much FUN!  I just got back from Tennessee and Indiana over the weekend.  The snow was SOOOO much fun!  Emma had a blast to say the least.  Since I have gotten back I have done Emma’s soccer photos, a baby session, and a birth.  Yes, I have been busy to say the least!  I will post more about my vacation with photos after posting the soccer, baby session, birth and wedding:)  Glad to be back!  Can’t wait to share the new year with you guys!

Christmas Break and an Update

Well I can finally breath:)  I will be taking some very much needed family time from now until Jan. 11th:)  Over the last couple of years I have learned to control my calendar and not let it control me.  Every now and again we have to step back and reflect on what’s super duper important in life and take the time to appreciate those people:)  So that’s what I am doing.  Most of you know that my mom was in the hospital this week.  She had to have surgery and is doing very well.  She is home now thank goodness!!!  My mom only lives 2 streets over so I am able to go over and help take care of her during this time very easily.  I’m so thankful for that.  She is such a trooper and is hanging in there.  For a woman who is use to be on the go 24/7 it’s strange for her to be sitting still.  However, even though I know she will never admit it, she likes it:)  Thank you all for your prayers and concerns.

I have gotten several emails about shoots starting in Jan. and they will start back up on Jan. 11th.  If you have not booked for next year then please do shoot over an email and I will get back to you on Jan. 11th.  The calendar for 2010 is booking quickly so shoots will be schedule on a first come first serve basis.  I will be leaving to go on maternity leave, but I do not have those dates yet.  I have been diagnosed with placenta previa so it just depends on that.  If it fixes itself then I’m right on schedule, but if it doesn’t then I will be going on leave 2 weeks earlier.  I will be going to the doctor on the 6th of Jan. and will know more then.  I will be sure to keep everyone posted.

My little Emma bean is so excited about Christmas this year and I must admit I am too:)  It is so much fun to hear her talk about Santa and how he comes when you are fast asleep:)  We are enjoying this time with just Emma this year, because soon our lives will change, for the better of course.  Another little bundle of joy will be added to the mix and Emma can share all her little secrets with her little sister.

I look forward to talking with everyone soon!  Enjoy your holidays!!!  XO~

New Product for the New Year :) 2010 is going to ROCK!!

I have a new product to add to my price list.  So many times people say to me that they don’t know what they are going to do with the disc of all the images, well other than print a few.  SO, what I did was take that into consideration and decided to provide you guys with something that you can not only use over the years, but give as gifts too!  I had some clients that were more than willing to be my testers for this product:)  Below you will see a few examples of the videos that you will be able to purchase with your session.  In my opinion these are so much more fun then looking through an album, but I do love looking through albums.:)  The options for these videos are endless.  You can of course pick your own music for your session, transitions can be completely different from photo to photo, quotes can be picked by you or me…etc.  What an awesome way to share your session with others!!!!  I have had several clients ask about doing prior sessions and I will for sure do that for you.  However, I am done doing sessions until after the first of the year so if you would like these for Christmas gifts please do send me an email pretty quickly so we can get the best DVD together for your gift.  I am working on adding this on my price list so if you are interested and have an upcoming session after the first of the year, feel free to email me for the pricing.  A big thank you and hugs to my testers!  I appreciate all that my clients are willing to do for me.  I love you guys and enjoy these quick little samples!  XO~

Traci & CO. ~ University of Tampa Photographer

So again I had way to many favorites to pick from:)  Let me first say that Traci is one of those people that you meet and you can start a conversation like you’ve known her forever!  She is such a sweet heart and her family follows her same path:)  I enjoyed hanging with you guys!  I was sorry to hear the next day that Carson wasn’t feeling well:(  I’m glad he is doing better though and I looking forward to shooting you guys again soon (with my camera of course):)  XO~

I did get Traci's permission before posting this one and the next one:) I know there are so many of us that can relate to this situation:) I have way to many days that are similar to this. Now this is what I call REAL. LIFE. ART.:)
